Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We welcome new patients of all ages. Call (704) 372-5411 or use our online form to request an appointment.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Your initial visit includes a welcome consultation, digital x-rays, digital photographs, and a comprehensive oral evaluation. Dr. Merlo or Dr. Fahrney will check for periodontal disease, oral cancer, and tooth decay. We will also take a look at your existing dental work to make sure it is in proper condition.
What insurance do you accept?
Our office will file all PPO commercial insurance. However, we are only contracted providers for Delta Dental, Cigna PPO (Radius Network), and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina PPO. As a courtesy to our patients, we will contact your insurance company to verify your coverage and benefits. Payment will be based on the terms of your insurance plan.
What are your office hours?
Our regular hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Fridays are by appointment only. We are closed on weekends and most major holidays.
What payment methods do you accept?
Our office offers several payment options to cover the cost of treatment and any balances not covered by your insurance. We accept Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or CareCredit (www.carecredit.com). You can also pay your bill online through our Pay My Bill link.
What is CareCredit?
CareCredit is a convenient, low minimum monthly payment program designed to pay for healthcare and elective treatment not covered by insurance. CareCredit has a variety of low minimum monthly payment plans, so you can start treatment today. Visit www.carecredit.com to apply.
Do I need to fill out forms before my first visit?
Filling out our New Patient forms ahead of time saves you time and hassle when you arrive. Forms are available for download on our Patient Info page, including a Records Release Form that lets us retrieve your records from your previous office, and our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Do you offer cosmetic dentistry?
Yes. Cosmetic services include porcelain veneers, dental bonding, Invisalign clear aligners, and professional whitening (including the Sapphire Whitening System). We begin with a consultation to understand your goals, then map out an approach that fits your smile and your timeline.
How does Invisalign work?
Merlo & Fahrney Dentistry is one of Charlotte's preferred Invisalign Providers. The Invisalign system uses a series of clear plastic trays used to move your teeth to the desired position. They are nearly invisible, and easily removed for brushing, flossing, and eating. The number of trays and overall length of treatment is determined by the degree of misalignment.
Where is your office?
Our office is at 1927 Brunswick Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28207, just east of uptown. We are easy to reach from Myers Park, Dilworth, Elizabeth, Plaza Midwood, SouthPark, and most of central Charlotte.
